First Edition in the “Fabulous Creatures” Trilogy produced exclusively for members of the Swarovski Collectors Society. It was introduced at the 1996 Gala in Phoenix, AZ., as the Annual Issue of 1996. It was retired in December 1996. It is 4 3/8” long. The Designer: Martin Zendron, personally engraved his autograph and date on the base, increasing its value. Interesting special features include: Frosted crystal tail, spiral crystal horn. The SCS mark is laser etched and carries “96MZ”, the design year and initials of the designer. The Issue Price was $325.
Swarovski provided an optional stand for each of the “Fabulous Creatures” set. Each base had a different bottom color. The bottom of the Unicorn stand was dark green and had a retail cost of $45. All three year's stands had a similar modern design with a clear Lucite top surface that made the figurine appear to be floating on air. We are including the Special Unicorn base along with the Unicorn Figurine all together in the price. Total Issue Price for figurine & stand was $370.
