Probably the greatest baserunner in Baseball history, he earned the nickname “Man of Steal”. Combined with his excellent hitting ability, he struck fear into the hearts of his opponents. He set the modern baseball stolen base record for a season with 130 in 1982, led the American League in steals 12 times. His career SB total was 1406. He also holds the record for runs scored in a career @ 2295. He was AL MVP in 1990 and earned 2 World Series rings (’89 Athletics & ’93 Blue Jays). He also played for the New York Yankees and New York Mets. He was regarded as the greatest lead off hitter of all time and was voted into Baseball’s Hall of Fame in 2009.
This cold cast porcelain figurine, produced in 1991, was Personally autographed by Ricky Henderson. It is limited to a world-wide edition size of 1200. This is #377. It is unlike any other sports figurine because this depicts Ricky sliding in head-first to capture another stolen base. The stand has a base and grooves that Ricky’s body fits into. You can lift the figurine off the base and examine its fine details, and there are many: the raised lettering and numbers on his uniform, the spikes in his running shoes, the padding in his running gloves. This figurine is exciting at any angle, particularly his upward stare as he touches the base, to catch the “safe” call from the umpire. Considered rare, there aren't many of these figurines around. The Issue Price was $275.
